Architecture and Atmosphere Book

Tapio Wirkkala and Rut Bryk were enthusiastic designers and tierless experimenters who embraced new developments in technology and craft to push the boundaries of design. Today the foundation bearing their name maintains this spirit and continues their passionate commitment to design and education.

As part of the centennial celebration of the couple's work and life, the foundation hosts a series of public events spanning a range of academic disciplines and professional boundaries. The Architecture and Atmosphere seminar was held in June 2014 with support from the Alvar Aalto Academy. It is presented here as the second volume of the Design Reader series. This book is based on the seminar.
