Rut Bryk

Rut Bryk (1916-1999) was one of the central figures in Finnish post-war design. With her works that convey incredible powerful emotion and intense sensitivity, she was a reformer of modern ceramic art.

The internationally significant and rare Tapio Wirkkala Rut Bryk Foundation Collection is permanently on display at EMMA in the Bryk & Wirkkala Visible Storage, opened in 2017. The collection is based on the personal archives of the artist couple and forms the most comprehensive body of work by Rut Bryk and Tapio Wirkkala. It includes not only finished artworks but also industrial design objects, models, sketches, drawings, and photographs.
