Architecture and Neuroscience

Tapio Wirkkala and Rut Bryk were enthusiastic designers and tierless experimenters who embraced new developments in technology and craft to push the boundaries of design. Today the foundation bearing their name maintains this spirit and continues their passionate commitment to design and education.

As a part of the Tapio Wirkkalas and Rut Bryks centennial celebration, the Tapio Wirkkala-Rut Bryk Foundation hosts aseries of public events that span across a range of academic disciplines and professional boundaries. The Architecture and Neurosciense seminar was held in June 2013 with the support from the Alvar Aalto Academy and the Architecture Information Centre - Finland. It is presented here as the first volume of the Design Reader series.
