Bri Candle Holder
The design language of the Bri Candle Holders is born out of a love for the architecture of Italian architect Carlo Scarpa. The layers, playfulness, and simple form are created to support the candle. The surface is left unglazed, allowing the essence of the porcelain to be felt as it is.
Piia Jalkanen is an interior architect and designer, and one of the founders of the Studio Bom collective. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 2023. She teaches artisan students in the field of arts and crafts at the secondary level and works on various projects and her own design work. Piia’s roots are in Northern Savonia, deep in the forests of her grandmother. She often draws inspiration from her roots, creating a journey from the past to the present through her works. For her, sustainable aesthetics, the stories of objects, and the idea that objects are made to last from generation to generation are important in design. Jalkanen’s works can be found in the collections of Marimekko’s New York store.
