Concealed Landscapes Oscar Furbacken

This new release explores hidden microcosmos by Swedish artist Oscar Furbacken, known for his permanent installation Tear (2025, EMMA Collection), located on the second floor of EMMA.

This publication describes Furbacken’s artistic path to the present day, allowing the reader to explore hidden worlds of lichens, mosses, and other all-too-easily overlooked beings from our everyday surroundings.

With stunning views of the artist’s sculptures, films, and paintings, as well as thoughtful essays by four authors, the works in this book ultimately call for a change in perception, seeking humbler ways to connect with the planet and the very ground on which we stand.

The minimalistic cover is inspired by one of the artist’s fissured concrete pieces and resonates powerfully with the architecture of the WeeGee building.
