Tripoli Lampedusa Book

The Danish artist John Kørner's work Tripoli–Lampedusa beckons us to step into a three-dimensional painting. At the same time, he makes us think about how we feel that people in distress are a threat to our standard of living. Is our Nordic welfare society truly in danger or are we simply unwilling to share the affluence that has befallen us? As the Danish saying goes, "festen fortsætter," the party goes on. But for whom does it go on?This is the question posed by Pilvi Kalhama, EMMA's Director, in her foreword. In her article, Arja Miller, EMMA's Chief Curator, delves into Tripoli–Lampedusa and Kørner's art in general on the basis of her discussions with the artist.
